Missy, a small, sweet black pug who was rescued a year ago, went into diabetic crisis on Sunday and finally lost her battle for survival on Tuesday, October 7th.
When she became a victim of the Menu Foods tragedy where hundreds of dogs died of liver damage, Missy came out of it with a damaged pancreas and lifelong diabetes. This made her impossible to adopt, so Debbie, her foster mother, took over her care and her doctor bills.
Missy has accrued a lot of medical bills from various crisis (one resulting in blindness). Despite all of her tragedies, she was generally a happy dog with a tendency to smile.
This latest medical crisis left Debbie reeling from both the loss of her sweet pug and the huge medical expense. So please contribute to help Debbie cover her medical expenses.
She was adopted July 3rd, but now a week later, we are in a battle to save her!
The weekend had started out so wonderfully for Uli! She was a sweet and shy rescue accepted into a warm and loving home on the eve of a major holiday. Unfortunately, her happiness quickly turned to horror when she broke her leash after being startled by a firecracker!
Uli started the weekend off early bound for the animal shelter after someone dumped her at a local school (those are the pics you see of her in the car.) Due to the summer holiday, the shelter was full, so Uli immediately went into rescue. Her foster mom, TIna (a member of Dallas Wild Life), opened her arms to the young Red Heeler despite having plans to go out-of-town the next day. Not having time to arrange for a pet sitter, Uli was quickly outfitted with a sturdy harness, a new name tag and a new leash. The plan was to arrive at a dude ranch near the Brazos River for an evening with a small group of friends in the great outdoors hundreds of miles from the big city. What dog could turn down a little barbecue?
HEADED FOR SAFETY
Before dusk, Uli and her new mom were headed for their vehicle with plans to go for a short drive away from the ranch. Unfortunately they didnt make it.
